After a labiaplasty, you will have a dressing put on in the operating theatre. You will then have a post-op review with a nurse at your local clinic approximately 7 days after your procedure.
You will feel some discomfort following this procedure. However, we will provide pain relief in hospital and also advise on managing any discomfort when you return home. You’ll have a review after 7 and 14 days, and then you’ll see your cosmetic surgeon again after a month so we can ensure that you are recovering well.
We advise that you take one week off work following labia reduction surgery.
Recovery can vary, but you should expect to abstain from intercourse for 3-4 weeks after surgery to allow the area to fully heal.
We want you to make a fully informed decision before you go ahead with surgery, so we offer a private consultation at your local clinic free of charge. At your consultation, you’ll meet with a cosmetic surgeon to discuss the body reshaping options available and whether buttock lift surgery is the most suitable procedure for your needs. You’ll be able to ask questions about all aspects of the surgery, from fat transfer and aftercare to the results you can expect. You’ll also meet your patient care coordinator, who will be with you every step of the journey. They will give you a personal quotation of costs and information about finance options, the expected timescale, our surgical facilities and door-to-door transport services.
At your consultation, you can book your surgery if you feel ready, but there’s no obligation to go ahead. Cosmetic surgery is a big step and you may want to take time to do more research and think about your decision. We’ll give you a patient information booklet, which provides comprehensive information on your procedure and aftercare. This is an important resource and we require patients to read the detailed information it contains. You’ll also find lots of helpful information here on our website – you can read about our surgeons’ qualifications, THG’s cosmetic surgery expertise and inspiring stories from some of our patients. Our patient care coordinators are available to discuss any concerns you may have. And when you feel ready, they can book you in for your procedure. We also have a 14-day ‘cooling off’ period in place, which means that if you change your mind about the procedure after booking within that period, you will not be charged.
On the day of your surgery, your medical team will make your experience as comfortable as possible and you’ll meet your surgeon again before the procedure. Buttock lift surgery involves a combination of surgical techniques to reshape and lift the bottom. Excess skin is cut away, and liposuction may be used to remove excess fat. The remaining skin is then lifted by an incision at the top of the buttocks, which can help to achieve a firmer contour. Generally this operation leaves a scar along the upper buttock, but this can go down the sides if a further incision is required. If you only have a small area of excess skin at the bottom of your buttocks, the scar can usually be hidden by the buttock crease. The butt lift procedure is performed under general anaesthetic.
We’ll be here throughout the recovery process to help you recuperate quickly. For buttock lift surgery you’ll normally need to stay in the hospital where your surgery has taken place for one night following your procedure. Each patient is given a personalised care plan, developed with the advice of their surgeon. All THG hospitals are equipped to the highest standards of clinical care and patient comfort.
At THG, we offer a full package of aftercare support with all our cosmetic surgery procedures to give you complete peace of mind.
