Weight loss surgery may be considered if you have a BMI of 30+, with or without co-morbidities such as Diabetes, Cardiovascular disease or if you have struggled with your weight for many years. The various weight loss surgery options are outlined below.

Weight Loss Surgery Options:-

Gastric Band

Our most popular bariatric surgery procedure, with operations being performed 7 days a week via keyhole surgery. The Gastric Band is an inflatable silicone plastic ring that is placed around the upper part of the stomach to control the amount of food that passes into the digestive tract and enables you to feel full sooner and for longer. It is adjustable and reversible. Read more on our Gastric Band or Gastric Band Adjustment pages.

Gastric Bypass

There are several varieties of Gastric Bypass operation, but all involve the creation of a small stomach pouch to restrict food intake and bypasses of the duodenum and other segments of the small intestine to reduce the absorption of calories and nutrients from food. More on our Gastric Bypass page.

Gastric Balloon

The Gastric Balloon is a soft, silicone sack that is inserted into the stomach and filled with sterile saline. With the gastric balloon in place, you will have a feeling of fullness and reduced hunger, which will help you to kick-start your weight loss. The gastric balloon stays in place for just 6 months to help you to adopt the diet and lifestyle changes needed to continue the weight loss. More on our Gastric Balloon page.
