Skin Peel
Facial skin peels are a deep exfoliation procedure, removing the top layer of skin to reveal fresher, brighter complexion.
This simple, safe but effective treatment is used to reduce the visible signs of aging on more mature skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines, discolouration and blemishes for a fresher, radiant and more youthful look to the skin. Equally, they can be of great benefit in younger skin or treating acne, delivering a fresh, healthy, glowing complexion.
While a single peel will deliver a noticeable benefit, usually a course is recommended for optimum results. Your Aesthetic Nurse can advise on what's right for your requirements.
Facial Skin Peels: Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Who does it suit?
It can be used on all skin types and does not require weeks of skin preparation. The chemical peel and treatment protocols can be tailored to suit the patient’s individual skin type and condition.
On more mature skin, the benefits are a younger-looking complexion with fewer fine lines and a radiant glow.
However, peels are effective at any age in removing the top layer of dead skin for deep exfoliation. Younger patients will still have noticeably fresher skin. The treatment is also recommended for acne sufferers where it can deliver great results.
Q: What peels do you offer?
Our UK clinics offer Neostrata skin peels which come in a variety of strengths to suit differing requirements.
Q: How long does it take?
The treatment itself takes around half an hour, but it may be longer depending on the product and treatment chosen. A chemical solution is applied to the area being treated and you will feel an initial warm sensation as the chemical becomes active. A post peel cream is then applied. 2-3 days later, your skin will begin to peel to reveal the healthy new skin beneath.
Q: Where can I get the treatment?
Non-surgical procedures are carried out in all of The Hospital Group’s clinics and hospitals in the UK and Ireland by our experienced, non-surgical nurses.
Q: What other treatments should I consider?
Dermal peels can be combined with many of our other treatments, both non-surgical and surgical (e.g. face-lifts).
Q: What’s right for me?
