• Mr Sigurdsson presented at the prestigious IFSO (International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders) Lausanne 2010, Swiss Study Group for Morbid Obesity
• Presented new study on scarless gastric banding technique - early results of new approach to laparoscopic gastric banding using modified incisions sited away from the anterior abdominal wall using conventional laparoscopy and instruments.  Advantages are shorter operating time with high patient satisfaction with the cosmetic outcome
• In follow-up calls, over 85% of the patients classed the cosmetic outcome as "excellent"
