PIP Patient Advice
Dear Patient,
The latest advice from the MHRA, and Prof Sir Bruce Keogh, Medical Director of the NHS is that women with Poly Implant Prostheses (PIP) implants do not need to have them routinely removed unless they have ruptured. There is no link to cancer and there is no clear evidence of an increased risk of harm compared to other breast implants.
The Hospital Group are not recommending routine removal of any PIP implants unless they have ruptured, however we do recognise that many of our patients who have these implants have become anxious. We have therefore combined a number of options for PIP patients which we think will go a long way to help and support you.
The Group would like to take this opportunity to thank those Suppliers who have allowed us to make this happen based purely on willingness to offer their services and products in this way.
