How long does it take?
Mole removal treatment usually takes no more than half an hour. The area is numbed with local anaesthetic, the mole is neatly removed and the area is closed and a dressing put in place. When initial redness/swelling has faded, this will leave a neat scar, which should be barely noticeable, certainly compared to the mole.
What else should I consider?
It is important to remember that most moles are benign (harmless). However, if you have any concerns it is important to see a doctor without delay. Our surgeons are expert in the field. If they have any concerns, a histology report and/or mole test can be arranged to check that there is nothing suspicious. If you wish, you can request this as a matter of course.
