Invisible Braces will invisibly straighten your teeth. Straighter teeth can reduce the risk of swollen gums, redness and pocketing, as these can all be caused by widely spaced or over-crowded teeth. By reducing these risks there is less chance that you will contract further problems such as gum disease, and it will therefore improve the general health of your mouth. 

In particular the health of your gums can vastly improve from having teeth that are aligned correctly. This is because the gum fits more snugly around each tooth, creating less risk for infection to occur. Clear Braces also allow you to brush and floss your teeth as you would do normally, this in turn helps to prevent tooth decay and disease.

Easier Cleaning

As Clear Braces do not require metal wires or bands they do not trap food in awkward places, unlike the normal orthodontic braces, thus preventing the build-up of plaque. Therefore this also helps to maintain good, oral hygiene.

Are these "Invisalign" braces?

Our cosmetic dentists offer both Invisalign braces and In-Line clear brace systems depending on the dentist.  The options will be fully explained to you at your cosmetic dentistry consultation.

Are Clear Braces for me?

The best way to find out if you are a suitable candidate for clear braces is to see a specialist cosmetic dentist for a consultation.  This will include full examination of your teeth, discussion of your requirements and taking impressions.  The impressions will be sent away to the clear brace lab, where technicians will creat a visual of what can be achieved. 

Invisible braces work well as an individual treatment or as a pre-treatment to further dental work (e.g. whitening, white fillings). They can play a role in virtually all dental programmes.

How do they feel?

Clear braces can feel a bit achey at first - you will be advised to work up to wear them for just a couple of hours at a time while you are getting used to the pressure as they move your teeth.  However you will soon work up to wearing them for around 16+ hours per day (including sleep time).

How do I care for them?

You can remove the braces to brush and floss your teeth as normal.  You will also need to remove them for eating and drinking (apart from water).  To clean the braces, simply brush with a soft toothbrush whenever you are cleaning your teeth.
