Read Kelly's full story of how she
got her amazing new smile!
My name is Kelly Simpson. To look at me today you would think I have it all; a successful
modelling career, worldwide travel, a great figure, confidence, good friends, a
wonderful boyfriend, I’m about to launch my own clothing range, and to top it all
I have recently appeared in the new ITV series of Ladette to Lady.
I was born in Cardiff, Wales, and had a normal middle class childhood. That is until
I turned 14. Then my life became a nightmare as I faced constant bullying and taunting
at school. Sunday nights were torture for me because I knew that the next morning
I’d have to face the agony of other kids ridiculing my looks. After that, I was
determined that no-one would ever have control over me again, so I joined the Navy,
and spent three years as an engineer, I studied martial arts and received my Licence
to Kill.
But underneath all the glamour, there’s an amazing story to tell. I was once an
ugly duckling, mercilessly bullied at school. I became a female bouncer, and have
been physically scarred from the violence of the job. Oh yes, and I’m licensed to
kill!
Thankfully my luck was about to change. I was scouted as a model while working on
the doors at a club. I thought it was a joke, as I wasn’t glammed up at all, I was
just an ordinary girl working the door, but to my amazement I found myself being
flown to the West Indies to represent Wales in an international competition! My
modelling career took off from that random moment.
When I returned to the UK, I
used my newfound self-defence skills to become a bouncer.
It may sound like a strange choice, but I remembered the pain of being a victim
during my teenage years, so I wanted to help other people in those circumstances.
I’ve got some horrific stories to tell you about that time of my life, but for now
I’ll just say that I suffered a slashed wrist, black and cut eyes, I was thrown
down stairs and had a bottle thrown at me. Despite all this, somehow I felt better;
I felt as if I was helping people.
I’m still the same person I always was; a feisty Welsh lass with a wicked sense
of humour, but I’ve learned so much from my experiences.
I want to share my story with you all to help any of you girls out there with similar
dreams to be inspired, encouraged and able to avoid some of the pitfalls I suffered.
Then The Hospital Group entered my life and transformed me into the girl you see
in the photos above. I have had 3 boob jobs and dental veneers to
give me the smile
I’ve never had, after years of feeling self-conscious about smiling!
