Cosmetic Surgery Clinic Celebrates It’s Second Year Anniversary

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

Leeds_cosmetic_surgeryAs part of their two year anniversary celebrations, The Hospital Group, one of the UK’s leading weight loss and cosmetic surgery group are holding an open day at their clinic in Leeds, to offer the public the opportunity to explore the array of body beautifying treatments currently available.

The Hospital Group is hosting the event, to not only allow the public to explore the various procedures, but to also provide an opportunity for those considering cosmetic surgery to get the most up-to-date and informative advice.

The Leeds clinic, which first opened its doors to the public back in the summer of 2008, was the first of its kind on the high street, combining exclusive beauty products and treatments alongside comprehensive cosmetic surgery and obesity surgery advice.

The clinic, on Albion Place in the centre of the city has already helped to transform the lives of thousands of patients. One of the most recent success stories is 18-year-old Holly Naughton, who finally overcame her crippling fear of dentists after having veneers fitted at the Leeds clinic this year.

Holly, an A level student said: “I was going round in circles, I needed a lot of work doing to my teeth as they had deteriorated through lack of care. I wanted to go to the dentist, but I was just too scared. I stopped smiling and became really depressed about it. After a while I knew I had to take action and so started to look at private clinics.

“My dentist was extremely helpful and made me feel really relaxed. I’m now over the moon with my new teeth, I feel like a different person. I’m glad I didn’t wait any longer to have it done as I just can’t stop grinning.”

The clinic offers advice on a range of surgical procedures with GMC registered surgeons, from breast enlargement and nose reshaping to liposuction and gastric bands.

The Leeds centre also offers non surgical procedures, including peels, BOTOX and fillers for those wanting to turn back the clock, and hyperhidrosis for those suffering from excessive sweating.

The Hospital Group’s Leeds branch has built on its success since it opened two years ago and also provides a specialist cosmetic dentistry centre, one of only three in the UK. The clinic offers the latest dental technology and techniques, including Nusmile Veneers, professional teeth whitening and clear braces.

The Leeds clinic can be located at 34 Albion Place, and the event is on Thursday 29th July, from 11am to 7pm to offer the public an array of special offers, for one day only.

Visitors will also be able to chat with several cosmetic surgery and skincare specialists, as well as enjoying refreshments and a tour around the facilities.

David Ross, Chief Executive of The Hospital Group, said: “The advancements in non surgical treatments has been astounding during the last five years. This open day will hopefully educate people about the range of treatments on offer.

“Many people long to change their looks, but are often apprehensive about taking the next steps and we hope this open day will provide the perfect setting for those considering any kind of procedure, whether that be a gastric band, dental veneers, or BOTOX, to fully explore the options available to them, whilst getting sound advice from our experts.”

The clinic is open to the public Monday to Saturday from 9am until 6pm, with late non surgical clinics available on Thursday until 7pm.

As well as offering non surgical treatments, dental procedures and consultations, the clinic also sells skincare products and offers relaxing nail treatments, including gel and acrylic extensions.

Brits Flock For ‘Nurgery’

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

Body conscious Brits are increasingly turning to ‘nurgery’ in time to bare all this summer.

Non invasive treatments designed to nurture natural beauty and tweak imperfections have become increasingly popular during 2010 as an alternative or a complement to cosmetic surgery.

Procedures such as BOTOX™, Juvederm dermal fillers, skin peels and teeth whitening have increased in popularity, month by month, since the start of the year as British men and women seek to perfect those flaws. Laser treatments at cosmetic surgery provider, The Hospital Group, such as laser hair removal and laser vein treatment have increased by a massive 80 per cent since January.

The demand for non-surgical treatments alongside subtle cosmetic surgery has seen an increase since A-list stars started sporting fresh, young, vibrant looks without looking ‘done’.

Sacha Higgins, Non-Surgical Manager at The Hospital Group, said: “We have seen a definite increase in those who want to maintain their looks with subtle, natural looking results.

“Although many people are still seeking dramatic, life changing results with a gastric band or cosmetic surgery procedure, 2010 has also seen a massive increase from both men and women who want to turn back the clock without any obvious hint of surgery.

“While BOTOX™ remains the most popular treatment, options such as the Glykopeel have transformed the way people view the range of non-surgical cosmetic treatments available. The peel works by improving the radiance of skin. It’s simple, affordable and is applied by a highly trained aesthetic nurse for maximum results.

“Increasingly, people want more than a haircut or a traditional facial to feel better about their looks and this is what ‘nurgery’ treatments can offer.”

Despite non surgical procedures growth in popularity, the traditional cosmetic surgery procedures have also seen an increase since the summer sun appeared.

Breast enlargement and reduction procedures have increased since January as women prepare to get bikini ready; while the number of ‘moob’ jobs performed to correct man boobs has increased by 50 per cent since the start of the year..

The Hospital Group offers a number of non surgical treatments to help rejuvenate facial appearance, which include injectable anti wrinkle treatments, dermal fillers and chemical peels to turn back the clock. The Group also offers laser skin rejuvenation and vein treatment which will be expanding in 2010.

The Hospital Group are one of the UK’s leading providers of cosmetic surgery, providing cosmetic, dental and weight-loss surgery for thousands of patients every year.

BOTOX™ Proven To Ease Migraine Pain

Sunday, July 11th, 2010

BOTOX™, which is traditionally used to erase wrinkles and lines on the face, may have another equally impressive use, easing the pain of migraines.

Drug safety watchdog, the Medicine and Healthcare Regulatory Agency (MHRA), has approved of BOTOX™ as a treatment to alleviate the pain of intense migraines.

With 700,000 people currently suffering from chronic migraines in the UK and some cases so severe that hospital treatment is needed, this new BOTOX™ treatment will be a welcome remedy for Migraine sufferers up and down the country.

This valuable use was discovered when patients who initially used BOTOX™ to improve the appearance of their facial features realised that their migraines had eased since having the treatment.

Recent research shows that BOTOX™ can reduce the pain of migraines for chronic sufferers by up to 50 per cent and tests carried out at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Centre in North Carolina boasted a 92 per cent success rate.  The treatment works by paralysing muscles in the neck and forehead which can set off the condition.  Patients will be given a series of about 30 injections into known trigger points every three to six months depending upon the severity of the case.

BOTOX™ has already been found to help ease a number of other conditions including back pain.

Patients looking into BOTOX™ treatments should look no further than The Hospital Group, one of the country’s leading cosmetic surgery providers.

David Ross, Chief Executive of The Hospital Group, said: “BOTOX™ is a great treatment that can eliminate lines and wrinkles on the face to give a fresher and more youthful appearance.

“The news that it can help to ease the pain of migraines is really interesting. Not only will BOTOX™ make a difference to the way people look but it will make a difference in their everyday lives helping to reduce the pain of migraines.

“It is important that consumers only seek treatments for BOTOX™ from recognised and trained medical aesthetic healthcare practitioners.

“With The Hospital Group’s expert advice and procedures people can be assured of a safe, dependable solution to their wrinkles.

“As one of the UK’s leading providers of cosmetic surgery, anti-wrinkle treatments are part and parcel of a vast number of fantastic non-surgical anti-ageing treatments available across our 19 clinics throughout the UK.”

BOTOX™ Doesn’t Just Lessen Wrinkles It Lessens Pain Too

Monday, June 21st, 2010

BOTOX™, usually known for erasing wrinkles and lines on the face may have another impressive use.

Researchers have found that patients who experience a painful and debilitating nerve compression disorder called thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) experience less pain after they receive a single low-dose injection of BOTOX™. TOS is caused by a compression of nerves in the lower neck, which occurs when there is not enough room in the cavity between the base of the neck and the armpit for nerve impulses to freely pass through.

Patients reported a significant reduction in short term pain after they received a low dose injection of BOTOX™ to a muscle in their neck. The small study suggests that BOTOX™ could be used as a safe non-invasive alternative method to pain relief for the syndrome as an alternative to surgery.

It’s not the first time that BOTOX™ has been discovered to help relieve pain. Previous studies have shown that BOTOX™ can help to alleviate the symptoms and pain of ocular migraines which can be triggered by hormonal changes, flashing lights and in some cases the chemicals found in food.

Sufferers of migraines reported dramatically less migraine pains and noted that they had fewer migraines on a weekly basis after the BOTOX™ treatment.

Patients looking into BOTOX™ treatments for aesthetic reasons should look no further than The Hospital Group, one of the country’s leading cosmetic surgery providers.

David Ross, Chief Executive of The Hospital Group, said: “Consumers should only seek treatments for BOTOX™ from recognised and trained medical aesthetic healthcare practitioners.

“With The Hospital Group’s expert advice and procedures people can be assured of a safe, dependable solution to their wrinkles.

“As one of the UK’s leading providers of cosmetic surgery, anti-wrinkle treatments are part and parcel of a vast number of fantastic anti-ageing treatments available across our 19 clinics throughout the UK.”

Wrinkles Are No Laughing Matter

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

New research has revealed that the lines formed when you laugh can very quickly become permanent wrinkles on your face.

The prime time for developing these deep set wrinkles is between your 20’s and 40’s, with sufferers of dry skin more susceptible to developing these lines at a quicker rate than most.

The study, photographed 120 girls with a neutral expression and again with beaming smiles. Eight years later the same women and girls had their photos taken.

The results revealed that creases which had only been evident when the subjects had smiled at the beginning of the study, had turned into permanent and deep lines by the end.

It was also apparent that the more laughter lines a women had when she let out a chuckle, the more full-time wrinkles she had eight years later.

Skin that was dry or sun damaged was shown to wrinkle twice as quickly as those with dewy complexions.

It is hoped the new research will help women understand the importance of taking care of their skin and in the process women can learn how to tackle the signs of ageing. There are many preventative ageing methods, whether in a clinic or even at home.

These treatments can be used to target prominent wrinkles but also used to help reduce any lines that have yet to set in. Experts advise women to smile in front of the mirror and where they notice creases on their face add an extra dollop of moisturiser.

For those looking to create a wrinkle free appearance, The Hospital Group, one of the UK’s leading cosmetic surgeons, offer an array of youth-enhancing treatments such as face lifts and brow lifts.

BOTOX™, dermal fillers and cosmetic dentistry are just some of the additional cosmetic procedures that the Group provide in their 19 clinics across the UK and Ireland.

David Ross, Chief Executive of The Hospital Group said: “Many people who come to the Hospital Group have spent years trying to gain a more youthful look.

“It is important that people are aware that staying in the sun, using sun beds and smoking can all cause significant damage to the skin and age it significantly.

“Taking care of your skin is an important way to combat the signs of ageing. The Hospital Group offer a wide range of treatments that are great for your skin and diminish the signs of getting older.

“From chemical skin peels that reduce the visible signs of ageing in mature skin and gives younger skin a fresh and healthy glow to BOTOX™, The Hospital Group only have the best surgeons and aesthetic nurses, all of whom have maximum experience in their field and are always on hand to offer you expert advice.”

“With The Hospital Group’s expert advice and procedures people can be assured of a safe, dependable solution to their wrinkles.”

BOTOX™ Treatments Can Gradually Be Reduced

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

New research has revealed that patients who use BOTOX™ can gradually reduce the number of injections they have whilst still retaining all the youthful benefits of smooth skin and fewer wrinkles.

The study carried out by the Casey Eye Institute at the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), discovered that patients who received BOTOX™ treatment over a two year period could reduce the number of injections they had and still maintain the same youth enhancing effects of a fresh treatment.

After two years of treatment at recommended intervals, patients could potentially reduce the amount of injections they received and therefore cut the cost of their BOTOX™ bill in half.

Whilst the recommended treatment for BOTOX™ is every three to four months, patients who have received treatment for two years can reduce their visits to every six months and still come away with a fresh and youthful looking appearance.

Patients looking into BOTOX™ treatments should look no further than The Hospital Group, one of the country’s leading cosmetic surgery providers.

David Ross, Chief Executive of The Hospital Group said: “When done with great care and knowledge BOTOX is a brilliant way to obtain a more youthful appearance and smoother skin. At the Hospital Group our Aesthetic Nurses are trained to the highest standards ensuring you get a professional consultation and the right result for you.

Trend For DIY Cosmetic Procedures

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

A new survey conducted by the Good Surgeon Guide demonstrates the lengths that some women are willing to go to in order to maintain a youthful appearance.

According to the Guide, non-invasive treatments such as BOTOX™ are viewed by women as a safe procedure to perform on themselves.

The research revealed that 22 per cent of women admitted they would be happy to inject highly toxic BOTOX™ into their own face. This is compared with 11 per cent of women who are willing to cut their own hair, a much less risky procedure.

Although the shocking results revealed that 22 per cent of women would rather inject BOTOX™ into their own faces then cut their own hair, 54 per cent of the women surveyed were more cautious and said they would consider BOTOX™ as long as it was carried out by a trained professional.

David Ross, Chief Executive of The Hospital Group, said: “BOTOX™ is a prescription only medicine and consumers should only seek treatments for BOTOX™ from recognised and trained medical aesthetic healthcare practitioners.  News of women being prepared to conduct potentially dangerous treatments on themselves is incredibly worrying.

“With The Hospital Group’s expert advice and procedures people can be assured of a safe, dependable solution to their wrinkles. As one of the UK’s leading providers of cosmetic surgery, anti-wrinkle treatments are part and parcel of the fantastic procedures we offer to perfect your look.”
