After revelations last week that Wayne Rooney has had a hair transplant, Louis Walsh admitted on Loose Women that he would also have a hair transplantation and supported the idea of “having a bit of work done”.

Speaking on the show, the only remaining X-factor judge from previous years, said “If I had to, I would go down that route. I think it’s called maintenance” and added “If it keeps me on the X Factor I absolutely would”.

As the weekend press revealed photos of a puffy-faced Gordon Ramsay leaving an exclusive Beverly Hills hair transplant clinic just before the New Year, speculation began immediately as to what he’s had done. Rumours suggest that he’s invested in a 12-hour follicular unit hair transplant.
Although the press have criticised him because you can’t see the results yet, this is not a concern to The Hospital Group’s resident hair expert Dr Art Katona, who explains that after a hair transplant, the relocated hair follicles are stunned for a few months before they start to grow again, so you would not expect to see instant results. This is perfectly normal: “It could be 12 months before he sees the benefit,” he said. “This treatment gives a natural effect which shouldn’t be obvious to the untrained eye.”
