Woman’s Own: Me and my twin had Facelifts on the same day!

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

Face Lift identical twins Diane Reeve and Christine Martin couldn’t bear to not look alike for more than a few hours – they chose the same cosmetic surgery procedure, with the same surgeon on the same day!

They both love their new look and the facelift has given them both a renewed youthfulness.  They have also considered having more cosmetic surgery when the time is right!

Norwich Evening News: Twins Facelift Together!

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

Norwich_news_twinsFor identical twins Christine Martin and Diane Reeve, looking at each other is like looking in a mirror.

So when the ageing process started to catch up with the Norwich sisters, it was staring them in the face all too plainly.

And when the idea of having a facelift was mooted, it was obvious to both that it would only be an ordeal they could face together.

So the 55-year-olds scoured the country in search of a surgeon who would operate on them within hours of each other.
Christine, who is retired, said: “I think we kind of knew there would come a time when we wanted to put the clock back a bit.

“Mostly the reaction was ‘you are mad, you don’t need it doing’, but it was for ourselves really.

“I think the change is subtle. With surgery people expect miracles and for you to suddenly look 10 years younger but it’s not like that: they can’t change your skin, just correct things like a sagging jawline or eyelids.

“The most major transformation has been in the eyelids. It’s not easy getting older and I think the more pride you take in your appearance the harder it is to accept. I also think as an identical twin you are probably more aware of how you are looking to other people because it’s like looking in a mirror each time you look at each other. I think you look at each other in a more critical way because deep down you are thinking ‘this is how I look’.”

The procedure was carried out by Surgeon Mr Sulaimann from the Hospital Group at its Dolan Park Hospital in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.

Daily Mail: Our Twin Face Lift

Monday, July 12th, 2010

The 54 year old twin sisters wear the same clothes, had the same careers and even dated each other’s boyfriends… So when one twin opted for a facelift, the other decided to have the procedure on the same day.

‘We didn’t want to look different from one another, even for a single day’, said Mrs Reeve, who lives with her husband John, 57, a teacher.

‘It was hard to find a surgeon who would do both our operations as it would mean eight hours of operating. But eventually we did. And the results have been fantastic.  I didn’t need to look in a mirror afterwards to see what I look like – I just looked at Christine and vice versa.’

The twins started discussing the possibility of having facelifts five years ago and finally took the plunge in April last year .

Mrs Reeve said: ‘We both said that we really wanted a facelift – it was just a case of when we were going to do it.  We had always been conscious of our looks and by then we had both started to notice our skin starting to loosen and sag and our eyelids becoming hooded. There was no way that I was going to let Christine have hers done before me and vice versa.’

The pair approached The Hospital Group, which said it could carry out both operations on the same day at Dolan Park Hospital in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. After two days the bandages were removed and the sisters were allowed home.  The surgeon was Mr Hassan Sulaimann, who has 30 years experience specialising in aesthetic cosmetic surgery.

A spokesman for the Hospital Group said: ‘It is the first time the surgeon has performed facelifts for twins on the same day like this.’

Mrs Reeve said: ‘We would like to consider more cosmetic surgery in the future, perhaps a tummy tuck. But we would only have it done together.’

Pick Me Up – Boob Job from 32AA to 32DD

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

Ashley Alongi, 25, from Edinburgh is DD-lighted with her new boobs

Unlike most girls, her boobs had never sprouted – at 16, she measured a 32AA.  Her confidence hit rock bottom.  Her doctor suggested going on the pill to boost her hormones.  2 years later when that didn’t work, he suggested counselling.

She changed doctors only to be told ‘It’s quite rare, but you have no breast tissue’.

With this condition, she qualified for breast enlargement on the NHS.  However, a waiting list of 5-8 years meant she’d be 32 by the time it was sorted, so she looked online for plastic surgeons and found The Hospital Group.

The consultant suggested a 32C and 2 months later, she went to the hospital for her procedure.  When the nurse peeled off the bandages she was thrilled to see she finally had boobs.

Three months later, she went for a check-up and felt self-conscious as she took my top off but was delighted to hear she now measured a 32DD.

The procedure has truly changed her life and given her so much more confidence.
