The 54 year old twin sisters wear the same clothes, had the same careers and even dated each other’s boyfriends… So when one twin opted for a facelift, the other decided to have the procedure on the same day.
‘We didn’t want to look different from one another, even for a single day’, said Mrs Reeve, who lives with her husband John, 57, a teacher.
‘It was hard to find a surgeon who would do both our operations as it would mean eight hours of operating. But eventually we did. And the results have been fantastic. I didn’t need to look in a mirror afterwards to see what I look like – I just looked at Christine and vice versa.’
The twins started discussing the possibility of having facelifts five years ago and finally took the plunge in April last year .
Mrs Reeve said: ‘We both said that we really wanted a facelift – it was just a case of when we were going to do it. We had always been conscious of our looks and by then we had both started to notice our skin starting to loosen and sag and our eyelids becoming hooded. There was no way that I was going to let Christine have hers done before me and vice versa.’
The pair approached The Hospital Group, which said it could carry out both operations on the same day at Dolan Park Hospital in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire. After two days the bandages were removed and the sisters were allowed home. The surgeon was Mr Hassan Sulaimann, who has 30 years experience specialising in aesthetic cosmetic surgery.
A spokesman for the Hospital Group said: ‘It is the first time the surgeon has performed facelifts for twins on the same day like this.’
Mrs Reeve said: ‘We would like to consider more cosmetic surgery in the future, perhaps a tummy tuck. But we would only have it done together.’
