Ex- “This Morning” host and mother of four, Fern Britton, has been caught catching some surf in Cornwall this week, wearing a figure-hugging wet suit.
The presenter, who has appeared on our TV screens for the past decade, admitted earlier this year to having a gastric band fitted to help her lose weight.
Since undergoing surgery the band has helped Miss Britton lose a total of five stone, as well as drop a number of dress sizes.
Pictures this week showed the effect the band has had on Britton. Jogging down the Cornish beach with ease, wearing a wetsuit and body board in hand, Fern is definitely making the most of her new found energy.
Since revealing her weightloss secret, The Hospital Group, the UK’s leading obesity surgery provider, has seen an outstanding surge in demand for gastric bands, which has been appropriately named “The Fern Britton effect”.
The Group has seen a 73 per cent increase in the number of enquires made regarding weight loss surgery since 2008, making them bigger than the NHS.
