A beauty contest celebrating plastic surgery enhancements is to be held in Hungary this year.
The’ Miss Plastic Surgery’ pageant which will judge contestants on their breast enlargements, liposuction and facelifts endeavours to boost the reputation of the plastic surgery industry in the country. Eligible candidates aged between 18 and 30 will have undergone at least one cosmetic procedure that requires general or local anesthesia and must submit their medical records to prove it.Â
Leading Hungarian plastic surgeons are to judge the event, which will see the winner be awarded with a brand new flat, the Telegraph reports.
The Hungarian contest comes as the UK sees a significant increase in the number of people undergoing cosmetic treatments. The Hospital Group one of the country’s leading cosmetic surgery provider saw an incredible 226 per cent increase in the number of non-surgical procedures performed in 2008. A total of 5,200 treatments were carried out across the group last year with treatments such as BOTOX®, hyperhidrosis and facial peels rising in popularity.
