BOTOX® Makes You Happy

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

Thousands of Brits undergo BOTOX® treatment every year to reduce the appearance of laughter lines and furrowed brows.

However scientists have discovered another use for the anti-wrinkle treatment. Not only can it be used to reduce the effects of ageing and stop hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), but BOTOX® can now actually improve your mood as well.

Researchers at Cardiff University investigated the effects of cosmetic treatments on the mood of 25 volunteers.

Out of the group a number of them underwent BOTOX® whilst others had laser surgery, cosmetic peels and numerous other treatments designed to make the skin look younger.

All of the groups felt that their treatment was particularly effective, but those given BOTOX® said they felt much happier.

Researchers believe that our expressions affect our mood, so when we wrinkle our brows when annoyed it only reinforces our irritation. Therefore by stopping the face from frowning, BOTOX® actually makes patients feel happier.

David Ross, chief executive of The Hospital Group, said: “Despite the recession, our clinics have reported a surge in the number of BOTOX® treatments conducted across the country.

“For many years we have noticed the positive effect the treatment has had not only on our patient’s appearance, but also their mood. Patients leave our clinics in high spirits which we feel contributes to their numerous return visits.”

The Hospital Group, one of the country’s leading cosmetic surgeries, provides a vast number of age preventative treatments across its 19 clinics throughout the UK.

The Group saw an incredible 226 per cent increase in the number of non-surgical procedures performed in 2008. A total of 5,200 treatments were carried out across the group last year with treatments such as Botox®, hyperhidrosis and facial peels rising in popularity.

Tennis Star To Undergo Surgery To Better Performance

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Most women dream of having larger boobs, however tennis star Simona Halep has vowed to undergo surgery later this year to shrink the size of her “uncomfortable” breasts at the tender age of 17.

The 5ft 5in Romanian beauty is to undergo breast reduction surgery to reduce the size of her amazing 34DD’s.

The tennis star, who is ranked 317th in the world, said “The breasts make me uncomfortable when I play. It’s the weight that troubles me, affecting my ability to react quickly”.

The main reason for considering breast reduction surgery is that large breasts can often cause both physical and mental distress. Chronic back pain is often a key symptom which surgery can significantly help to relieve.

The Hospital Group, one of the country’s leading cosmetic surgeries, perform an extensive range of breast surgery procedures, ranging from breast reduction, nipple reduction, breast uplift and enlargement.

In 2008, The Group performed 10 per cent more breast reductions than in 2007. Only six months into the year, and The Hospital Group have yet again seen an increase on last year’s figures proving that breast reduction is increasingly popular.

With the ever rising demand for breast enhancement, The Hospital Group, one of the country’s leading providers of cosmetic surgery, has launched the revolutionary new Natrelle™ breast implants from Allergan.

Surgery isn’t something to be taken lightly, and to ensure the patient is in control every step of the way, The Hospital Group’s surgeons utilise the latest Biodynamics® Breast Analysis System which will measure the breast accurately and assist in selecting the perfect Natrelle™ implant based on the individual’s requirements. A total of up to 36 detailed measurements may be taken during the consultation, followed by a discussion of the patient’s preferences and expectations in terms of cleavage, shape, size and feel.

The amazing new software also offers a visualisation system, enabling the patient to see and feel the effect of the enhancement before undergoing surgery by wearing a specially designed vest with externally worn simulated breast prosthesis.

David Ross, chief executive of The Hospital Group, said: “Our main concern when performing any form of surgical procedure is that the patient is 100 per cent happy with the end result.

“This fabulous new technology allows patients to actually see the difference our bespoke implants will have on both posture and appearance before undergoing any form of treatment. This in turn ensures patients will be completely satisfied with the proposed enhancement”.

Sweaty Summers A Thing Of The Past

Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

The virtues of a colourful summer wardrobe are extolled by many a style expert. But many men and women across the UK have little choice but to reach for something in black or white – for fear of the embarrassment caused by their excessive sweating.

Sweating is a natural function to control body temperature, but for some people excessive sweating – or hyperhidrosis – can occur for no apparent reason. The severity of the condition varies from person to person and the underarm area is usually the main area affected. Wherever the condition strikes, excessive sweating can prove problematic socially and professionally. The condition comes about when the sympathetic nervous system, which controls involuntary responses such as sweating and blushing, fails to regulate sweating.

But The Hospital Group can provide relief for those suffering from the affliction with its BOTOX® cure. The BOTOX® treatment involves a series of injections in the affected area, which prevents the release of the chemical acetylcholine from the nerve fibres that stimulate overactive sweat glands. The non-surgical procedure takes only half an hour and the patient will see a dramatic improvement that lasts for around six months.

The Hospital Group, one of the country’s leading cosmetic surgeries, provides a vast number of non-surgical treatments across its 19 clinics throughout the UK.

The Group saw an incredible 226 per cent increase in the number of non-surgical procedures performed in 2008. A total of 5,200 treatments were carried out across the group last year with treatments such as BOTOX®, hyperhidrosis and face peels rising in popularity.

UK Sees Boom In Comestic Surgery

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

The UK has seen a significant boom in the number of cosmetic surgery procedures being undertaken in 2008 and shows no sign of slowing down this year, despite the recession taking full hold.

The number of people opting for surgery has soared over the past five years by a staggering 320 per cent. According to the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), an unbelievable 34,100 procedures were performed in 2008.

Boosting self-confidence and the desire for the ultimate beach body are said to be the major reasons for people to undergo surgery.

The research findings also show cosmetic surgery is no longer dominated by women, male surgery has also seen a steady increase over recent years with the most popular procedure being rhinoplasty aka ‘the nose job’.

The most popular treatment for women in 2008 remains breast augmentation, seeing an increase of 30 per cent. However abdominoplasty, also known as the ‘tummy tuck’, came a close second with 3,300 women opting to go under the knife, all in the name of beauty.

The Hospital Group, one of the country’s leading cosmetic surgeries and weight loss providers, has also seen a considerable increase in the number of procedures being undertaken.

The Group saw a staggering 45 per cent increase in the number of women having breast augmentation.

For men, bylateral gynaecomastia, or ‘moob removal’, has seen a substantial rise in popularity with an increase of 20 per cent – proving men care as much about their appearance as women.
