Cosmetic dentistry can achieve outstanding results, but if you have more complex needs, we also offer a range of advanced procedures from our clinic in Spain. Our extended team in Spain includes dentists, maxillofacial surgeons, an oral surgeon and a specialist orthodontist, all of whom are very experienced in their chosen fields.
Your requirements are likely to be highly unique and therefore we recommend a private consultation with Dr Daniel Simon to discuss your individual requirements and assess what sort of result you could expect with treatment.
Consultations with Dr Simon are held in selected clinics at The Hospital Group in the UK. The cost of a consultation is £50, refundable off the cost of any treatment undertaken.
In conjunction with the renowned Agave Clinic in Marbella, we offer a wide range of advanced treatments using a combination of techniques. Requirements vary enormously, but we can offer anything from specialist zygomatic dental implants to full oral reconstruction after trauma (for example car accidents). Generally these are sophisticated tailor-made procedures, using a combination of techniques including:
dentistry and implants (including zygomatic implants)
orthodontics (fixed, removable and clear braces)
maxillofacial surgery (jaw and chin surgery)
facial plastic surgery (rhinoplasty, chin implants, face/eye lifts etc)
Zygomatic dental implants are the latest implant technology, suitable where there is insufficient bone for standard titanium implants. If you have been told that you are unable to have dental implants due to insufficient bone material, then a zygomatic implant can enable you to have implant fixed dentures, as they go deeper into the bone for a firm fixing.

Fixed teeth can be made within 3 days after the surgery. It will take 4 months before the implants really get connected to the bone (osseointegration). After that a final bridge of acrylic or porcelain can be made. The results are so good that zygomatic implants are supplied with a 10 year guarantee.

This image shows an x-ray of dental implants - standard dental implants are used in teh upper and lower jaw, but in addition, 2 zygomatic implants have been used and this go much further into the upper jaw to achieve results that would not be possible using standard implants alone.

While orthodontics (straightening the teeth) is a well-known specialism, orthognathics (straighening the jaw) is less well-known. However, a poorly aligned jaw will generally lead to a poor bite and an unbalanced facial profile. Therefore correctly aligning a jaw can produce stunning results both aesthetically (so your face looks correctly balanced) and functionally (so that your upper and lower teeth fit together properly, commonly causing difficulty eating, sometimes speech problems and in extreme cases headaches and jaw pain).
The procedure basically involves dissecting the jaw and moving the fragments into new positions which are then secured with plates and screws. There is no visible scarring as the incisions are made inside the mouth. As you would expect, this process moves the teeth too so any jaw surgery is usually undertaken as part of a treatment plan also involving orthodontics and/or other dental work (such as implants, crowns, veneers etc).
Depending on the patient's requirements, surgery can manipulate the upper or lower jaw. The incisions may run in a variety of directions, depending on the needs, to create a better proportioned jawline.

This may be carried out to correct over-prominent or under-developed chins. The outcome here is largely aesthetic, i.e. better balanced face.
The procedure will be carried out under general anaesthetic and in itself will take around an hour (although longer if combined with other procedures). The diagram here shows the bottom section of the chin being pushed forward. This would create a dramatic impact in patients with a receding chin. However, if the patient had an over-dominant or jutting chin, the movement would be in the opposite direction
If you have been involved in an accident, whether recently or many years ago, you may have been left with facial and oral injuries. Our expert surgeons can provide both primary and secondary treatment using the latest techniques to provide the best possible results. Our techinques include:
